Reflection of Rameses II

I think ancient Egyptian created monuments so they can be remembered in the future. Also it can show religious belief of the Pharaoh. it can also represent a victory or event that has happened and is marked by the monument so it can be remembered why it was important. It goes along with defeat or a loss. For example,Ramesses II it created Abul Simbel the monument shows the victory of the battle of Kadesh which shows the people who died during the battle.I think he did this to mark the dedication to the Chariots who died and for the victory of receiving territory. There are also many monuments today represent things similar to Abul Simbel.

Today in the New York,USA there is a famous monument called the statue of liberty. Just by the name of it the first thing that comes to mind is that it shows the liberty and freedom of the US.It was given by France for a gift (well kind of). Its similarity is Abul Simbel and the statue of liberty show a dedication for something.(THE IMAGES IS AT THE TOP OF THE YOUTUBE VIDEO)

Also today there is another famous monument called Christ the Redeemer it is a statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It represents religious belief. Also is a symbol of the city Rio de Janeiro. Abul simbel is a symbol of Ramesses II also Abul Simbel includes religious belief.(AND AGAIN THE IMAGES IS AT THE TOP OF THE YOUTUBE VIDEO)

Using Google Docs as the main portal to collaborate helped. For example you and your partner can type on the same page instead of using thumb drives and sharing it to do work which might bump the due date to a week more than from what it was before. Along with that you can edit the your partners work and chat with them
from a certain distance to get things done and get organized.

I learned a lot about the civilization of ancient Egypt. For example Ive never heard of the pharaohs were studying. Also how they had a conneciton with todays world. One thing I learned was the social structure how each level of people have different jobs and religion. Another fact is that they had bargaining to get what they needed. Like I trade you two carrots for 10 rocks.

What I found challenging was getting the information and how they keep mentioning different things that I dont know. Also working with people I happen to not get along with. I thought challenging was finding good images because its very hard to find an image exactly what your looking for.

The school wide learning SLRS that was done in this project was Collaborate Constructively. Communicate Effectively, and Learn Enthusiastically due from the different activities in the project.
